The Lattice Quilt is finished! from Jan's Quilts

The Lattice Quilt is complete and I'm a dork. This one is going to my daughter Carrie in N.C., and I was getting it ready to mail; the box was taped shut, then I realized I hadn't taken any photos!  Must take photos!

For the quilt back I used the left-overs from the layer-cake.  The quilt measures 48" x 57".

Lattice Quilt Top from Jan's Quilts

The first 2021 quilt top is finished. Such a simple pattern called "Lattice", it's a freebie from the Fat Quarter Shop. I used a Layer Cake of Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hoey that I've had for ages. Now to piece the quilt back. I love how it turned out.

 The top measures 48" x 57.5".

Pool Party Quilt Top, Pre-cut Challenge from Jan's Quilts

The Pool Party Disappearing-4-Patch quilt top is assembled. It measures 64.5" x 80.5". After assembly, I found a problem but it's staying! Can you spot the problem?

I made this from a layer cake called Pool Party Palette by Kona Cotton. I tried to keep the blues in the order they were in the layer cake, I succeeded for the most part. I'm very happy with the result. This is part of my pre-cut challenge, trying to use up all the precuts I've accumulated over the years.

Yes, this Disappearing-4-Patch looks different ...

Geese at Sunrise, Precut Challenge, Two Quilts Finished! from Jan's Quilts

The sun was directly overhead, so my photos aren't the best.  (That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!)  These are the last of the Jellyrolls I'm using for my Pre-Cut Challenge.  This jelly roll is called Geese at Sunrise and those are my kind of colors.

For the quilt backs, I used up some large pieces of scraps and a couple of orphan blocks.

These quilts measure 45.5 x 56.5 inches and 45.5 inches square.  Quilts # 16 and 17 for 2020.

Now to decide on my next Pre-Cut Challenge, I'm thinking ...

Two Strip Quilts are finished from Jan's Quilts

Two jelly roll strip quilts complete. I finished binding them yesterday. The second photo shows the back of one. These are part of my PreCut Challenge to use my stash.

I used a batik jelly roll and a Kaffe Fassett jelly roll. The Kaffee roll only had 29 strips while the batik one had the normal 40 strips.  I removed the black batik because who needs a black batik and added 12 solid strips that I cut from my stash.  Then I shuffled everything a couple of times and divided them into two stacks.  This is the result.  I've ...

Geese at Sunrise, Precut Challenge from Jan's Quilts

I'm still challenging myself to use precuts from my stash.  The focus this month is Jelly Rolls. I have at least 5 more jelly rolls in my stash, so I'll be busy for a while!  The jelly roll I used for this project is called Sunrise Colorstory by Kona Cotton.  The blue fabric is from stash. This measures 45" x 57".

I have enough of these giant HSTs leftover to make a small baby quilt; I'm leaning toward pinwheels but that's a decision for tomorrow.

Geese at Sunrise ~ 2, Precut Challenge from Jan's Quilts

This is the layout I chose for the leftover HSTs from the Geese at Sunrise Quilt Top.  I initially thought I'd make pinwheels from the 16 giant HSTs; nope I didn't like that layout.  So I fooled around with the layout for a couple of days, sort of tweaking the design as I walked by the dining room table.  This quilt top measures 45" square.

My "normal" LAQ now has 3 of my quilts to work on, so I'm going to contact someone else about quilting these two.

Pre-Cut Challenge from Jan's Quilts

I have tons of precuts, from when I started quilting. I've decided to challenge myself to use them up.  I'm calling it the Pre-Cut Challenge.  Feel free to join in.  Here's the hashtag:  #precutchallenge

The Kaffee roll only had 29 strips while the batik one had the normal 40 strips.  I removed the black batik because who needs a black batik and added 12 solid strips that I cut from my stash.  Then I shuffled everything a couple of times and divided them into ...
